Med's NBA Roster v3.9b & Universal Portrait Project v3.6b Released

A total of 12 players have been moved since the last update (March 26). 8 players have been signed, while 4 players have been waived. Three new courts have been added to the roster! This is the final update for the 2015-2016 NBA Season, although there might be a final update after the 2016 NBA Finals if necessary.

Player Transactions

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Christian Wood, while the Cleveland Cavaliers sign Dahntay Jones. The Boston Celtics sign new player John Holland while the Memphis Grizzlies sign Bryce Cotton. The Miami Heat reunite with former 2006 NBA Champion Dorrell Wright, and also sign Briante Weber while the New Orleans Pelicans sign both James Ennis and Jordan Hamilton. Jared Cunningham has been waived by the Milwaukee Bucks while the Philadelphia 76ers waive Sonny Weems. Ryan Hollins has been waived once again by the Memphis Grizzlies and Chris Copeland was waived by the Orlando Magic. John Holland's cyberface is in Main Directory Files 20 which has been re-uploaded, so you have to re-download that pack to get his cyberface.

Retro Sleep Train Arena, #MambaDay Staples Center, and 2014 MGM Grand Garden Arena

#MambaDay concluded the amazing career of Kobe Bryant, and the Staples Center (LAL) had a special floor tribute to Kobe. We've added the special court by Mythbuster as an alternate court to the Staples Center (LAL). We also added another court, the retro Sleep Train Arena for the Sacramento Kings, which will be moving to a new arena next season. The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas was the venue for the 2014 NBA preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings. Both of these courts by Kieler 2K are added to the roster. These new courts require you to re-download Main Directory Files 20.

Future Updates

This will most likely be the last update of the season. A final update after the 2016 NBA Finals might be released if necessary. Otherwise, the next version of Med's NBA Roster (v4.0) will be next season. There will also be plans to keep Kobe Bryant in the game, while not making him a free agent, but these will all be surprises in the next version of the roster update. For the off-season, we will be focusing mainly on FIBA 2K14 & PBA 2K14 updates.

Universal Portrait Project Update

The Universal Portrait Project has also been updated from v3.6 to v3.6b. This update only adds the portrait for John Holland.

PBA 2K14 v10.2 Released

Did we say this weekend? The PBA 2K14 update arrives earlier than expected! Gary David signs with the San Miguel Beermen and Pierre Henderson-Niles suits up for Rain Or Shine as well as updated ratings, animations, rotations, etc. We've added a total of 23 new cyberfaces for this update, and check out news on future updates for PBA 2K14!

Updated Rosters & Cyberfaces

Pierre Henderson-Niles has replaced Mo Charlo of the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters and the San Miguel Beermen have signed Gary David. A total of 23 cyberfaces have been updated for PBA 2K14. That includes cyberface updates for M.J. Rhett, Tylker Wilkerson, and a whole lot of other local cyberfaces by Burugudoyz 2K Modders.

Future Updates

Future updates for PBA 2K14 (v11) will feature throwback rosters for the 2013-2014 PBA Season, which is also a throwback for the team as it marked the first couple of versions for PBA 2K14. While only the PBA 2014 Philippine Cup & Commissioner's Cup were made available, it would be easy enough to "update" the roster and create a Governors' Cup roster. These rosters use a different roster structure from what we know today, as the PBA only had 10 teams at the time. We will also focus more of our time and efforts on updating the NCAA Season 91 jerseys.

Update Reminders & Notes

To enjoy the new additions to PBA 2K14 v10.2's cyberface updates, a 20 MB Follow Up Pack has been uploaded for you to download complementary to the PBA 2K14 v10.2 Appdata Files that have been uploaded in the Downloads Section. The files in this 20 MB follow up pack have already been included in the re-uploaded PBA 2K14 Main Directory Files 11, and PBA 2K14 Full Packs for those that have yet to download the PBA 2K14 v10.0 or v10.1 update, or have yet to download for the first time.

#MedSpeaks : Started From The Bottom

Med speaks on how it all began from a fan to a modder.

NBA 2K12 (2011-2012)

The Ultimate Base Roster for NBA 2K12, the greatest mod to have ever existed was what made me want to get into NBA 2K for PC. In NBA 2K12, I never really shared any of my private roster work back then, even though I had already been editing NBA Live & 2K rosters back in the Play Station 2 days.

NBA 2K13 (2012-2013)

It was in NBA 2K13 when I decided to release my own series of updated NBA rosters, including 10 NBA Legends teams. With the absence of UBR for NBA 2K13, I decided to call it "Med's Ultimate Roster", because of the addition of the new teams. RED MC was still called REDitor during the time. I didn't have all of the licenses for it, I didn't know how to use it properly. Still, apparently people still liked my work for NBA 2K13.

NBA 2K14 (Late 2013)

When NBA 2K14 was released, I wanted to change a few things, I stopped my idea of adding retro teams to focus more on the current NBA roster's quality. It was there that more creative ideas on how to systematize a few things that I knew COULD be done, but still hadn't been done by others too.

PBA 2K14 (Late 2013 to Early 2014)

After a rather successful late 2013, I was lucky enough to be invited to be part of the legendary PBA 2K Modding Team (known as Pinoy 2K Modders or PBA 2K Team). With PBA 2K having existed as early as PBA 2K10, and with other PBA mods since the NBA Live series, I knew there were big shoes to fill. I knew there were a lot I could contribute on a technical aspect (compatibility, a more organized system, proper editing, uploading and file sharing) but in all honesty, I didn't even watch the PBA during that time.

If some of you remember, the very first few versions of PBA 2K didn't have the same quality as it does now, even regarding rosters. I didn't watch the league, I didn't know who was good without looking at stats, I didn't know their tendencies, positions, animations, etc. It was when I dedicated my time to watching the PBA on TV, and even live at times that I got a grasp of it and basically fell in love with it.

Hiatus & Comeback (Mid 2014 to Late 2014)

In early 2014, I took a 9-month long hiatus because of a motherboard crash. A lot of you already know this, and for those who were there during the time, and still here now, I salute you. When I came back in late 2014, I wanted to bring something new to the table, something to make up for my absence. That's where I got the idea for the website for PBA 2K14 (the old Google Sites for those who visited it before).

FIBA 2K14 (2015)

As early as January 2015, I also had the idea of putting the same touch on FIBA 2K by dwadeflash. Luckily, he shared his resources and knowledge with me and literally after MONTHS of researching, working hard on a completely new roster, and as far as collaborating with international members of the NBA 2K community such as the Americans, Lithuanians, Spanish and Chinese, we were able to successfully make our dream come true, a comprehensive FIBA 2K mod.

Kuroko No Basuke (2015)

During this time, I personally was watching Kuroko No Basuke (anime), and thought to myself to create my own roster for Kuroko No Basuke & Slam Dunk. I didn't like the existing mods, I wanted to make it my own so I made the rosters, using cyberfaces from other modders. It was supposed to be just an open source roster, where you place your own cyberfaces to make it compatible since I didn't have a modding team. I didn't know who was good at making cyberfaces for anime.

Launch of the Website (2015)

The idea of adding another pair of mods to the duo of NBA Roster Updates & PBA 2K14 led me to the idea of having a full website dedicated to all of the mods, effectively renaming "Med's Ultimate Roster" to "Med's NBA Roster". We are all thankful for HoopsVilla's Sid Vishnoi, who was very kind enough to help create and build the website for free. We owe it all to him, that we are able to download these updates easily.

Kuroko V Slam Dunk (2016)

Luckily, I was able to collaborate with the great KoroX and Seushiro and we were able to bring a dream come true by having an anime roster, with my touch, for FREE. We all know the drama with anime mods, and with the latest release of the MyCareer/Association-compatible roster, I really feel as if it is now a success. With all of these mods having existed since previous versions, I always think to myself, what can I do differently? I don't do this just to be "the man" who makes all of these mods. I wanted it to be my own. I didn't want to take what others already made. Everything had already been done before, but not quite the way I have been doing it for the past few years, no.

I always thought of creative ways of bringing an AUTHENTIC experience for NBA, FIBA, PBA, and anime basketball to NBA 2K. We are all lucky enough that I am able to collaborate with the BEST modders in the world. You have to work with the best, to be able to share the best work with others, free of charge. We listen to everyone's comments and requests (even though we don't usually take requests, we still consider them at times).

I am proud of the amount of dedication and creativity I put into these mods, I feel like we've done things we never thought were possible in NBA 2K. I always felt like we could push it to the limit, making each mod completely different from the others, but at the same time, it has that similar Medevenx-style branding. It has that Medevenx seal of quality and approval.

My message is don't be afraid to say what everyone else is thinking, don't be afraid to try something different, don't be afraid to share your works even though you haven't made any name for yourself. Always carry yourself professionally and try to present yourself the best way you can without coming out as a fake. I am thankful for the personal brand being held high regarding all of my mods. I feel as if the mods are now cemented into the hearts of people. I am glad that all of you are enjoying the mods, some even much more than I expect. I thank you all. It is definitely one hell of a journey so far, and we're going to go Icefrog's DotA on Warcraft III for NBA 2K14! I am here for the long run and I am here to stay. I hope the other modders will stay with us too, so we can keep continuing this legacy for NBA 2K14!

Kuroko V Slam Dunk Full Version: Interhigh Update & Universal Portrait Project v3.6 Released

The Interhigh Update finally arrives! This update completes the 15-team roster and the 30-team roster for Kuroko V Slam Dunk, making MyCareer & Association modes now available! All of the newly added cyberfaces were made by KoroX! We also update the Universal Portrait Project!

Interhigh Teams! Roster Complete!

We've added 8 new teams to complete the 15-team roster for the Slam Dunk side, completing the 30-team working roster for Kuroko V Slam Dunk. The teams added are Aiwa Academy, Daiei Academy, Jousei High, Meihou Industry Affiliated High, Sannoh Industry Affiliated High, Takezato High Toyotama High and Tsukubu High. All of them except for Takezato and Tsukubu participate in the Interhigh, which is shown only in the manga, not in the anime. That may be the reason some of you Slam Dunk anime fans are not familiar with these teams, as they were only shown in the manga except for Aiwa Academy & Meihou Industry Affiliated High. A number of player updates such as ratings, tendencies, etc. from reading the manga have been incorporated into Kuroko V Slam Dunk Roster 3, showing the large improvement by Sakuragi, etc. Only one special team has been added to the roster, which is Tomigaoka Junior High (One Year Ago). Sannoh's starting lineups differ with each roster. The first roster has Ichinokura starting over Minoru as it started off that way in the manga. The second roster has Minoru starting over Ichinokura, which was the lineup for Sannoh at the start of the second half vs Shohoku. The third roster has Mikio Kawata starting at C, with Nobe benched for Masahi Kawata, as seen in the final lineup for Sannoh in the match versus Shohoku. Of course, feel free to change these rotations whenever.

Roster Structure, MyCareer & Association

Kuroko V Slam Dunk has the Kuroko No Basuke side taking over the Western Conference as the Winter Cup, and the Slam Dunk side taking over the Eastern Conference as the Interhigh Championship. The Finals is now labeled as the Japanese High School Basketball Nationals, a series between the victors of the Winter Cup and the Interhigh. With that structure in-tact, The East & West All-Stars are now the Interhigh & Winter Cup All-Stars respectively. The roster makes use of a 29-Game Schedule where teams face all other teams once during the season. The Draft Projection also allows you to be drafted by all of the teams, ranking the teams alternately between Kuroko No Basuke teams and Slam Dunk teams. That means the #1 pick belongs to Seirin, the #2 pick belongs to Shohoku, etc. The MyCareer Mode has you playing in Tomigaoka Junior High alongside Kaede Rukawa and Ichiro Mizusawa, against the legendary Teiko Junior High comprised of the Generation of Miracles and Tetsuya Kuroko in the Japanese Junior High National Championship, replacing the Rookie Showcase. Whoever the victor is in this match is completely up to you, will decide your fate on what team you will land in, and sparks what will be your rivalry with each of the players of the Generation of Miracles.

The following is the order of the Draft Order for Kuroko V Slam Dunk's MyCareer Mode:

  • Rakuzan [Kuroko No Basuke]

Future Updates

What's in store for the future of Kuroko V Slam Dunk? Well, we'll be adding more special teams such as the combination Shoyo/Ryonan team, Takeishi Junior High (Mitsui's Junior High team), more retro teams such as Shohoku (Two Years Ago) with rookie Akagi, Mitsui and Kogure, probably even fictional lineups such as an Uncrowned Kings team, Kanagawa All-Stars, etc. We'll also be doing more presentation files such as Title Screens, Global, etc. There MAY be plans to have team-specific logos for all teams in the future, including fictional Japanese names for the fictional players added, but is currently not the priority for future updates. We will also include Kuroko V Slam Dunk-related stories and headlines in the future.
